DMIS Standards Committee!

The DMIS Standards Committee (DSC) is the official consensus body for the Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS). The purpose of the Committee is to continually develop, maintain, and support the DMIS standard, and also to work with other groups to identify and develop related industrial automation standards. The DSC works closely with national and international standards bodies to harmonize efforts, and to produce relevant documents or standards which will promote the interoperabilty of systems. The upcoming DMIS / I++ DME Workshop will focus on the programming and implementation of the new Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS 5.1) with an introduction to the I++ DME specification. The Workshop is scheduled for August 25-28, 2008, at the Brighton, Michigan facility of Metris – USA (LK). This hands-on Workshop is designed for CMM Technicians, Metrology Specialists, and Quality Engineers who need to better understand measurement programming, and the role of standards in the ever-changing world of dimensional metrology.
