The upcoming DMIS / I++ DME Workshop will focus on the programming and implementation of
the new Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS 5.1) with an introduction to
the I++ DME specification. The Workshop is scheduled for August 25-28, 2008, at the Brighton, Michigan facility of Metris – USA (LK). This hands-on Workshop is designed for CMM Technicians, Metrology
Specialists, and Quality Engineers who need to better understand measurement programming, and the role of standards
in the ever-changing world of dimensional metrology. (Click on heading for details.) Authentic, officially approved standards offer a major benefit that company specific, proprietary specifications cannot provide: Industry consensus and interoperability of
programs and functions. This DMIS /
I++DME Workshop will encompass the new features and capabilities of the DMIS
5.1 Standard, the most widely used metrology interface standard in the world,
and describe how the I++DME specification complements and functions with DMIS.
This Training
Workshop will begin 1:00 PM Monday, August 25, and conclude at noon Thursday, August 28, (or 24 class hours) and will include, but not be limited to, the following topics.

Once a
series of commands is understood, sample programs will be generated to demonstrate
their function using either a simulated CMM environment or live demonstrations
on a CMM. The “Labs” are the core emphasis of the Workshop, and offer
excellent learning opportunities.
All classes will be held at the Metris-USA (prior LK Metrology facility), located
at 12701 Grand River Road, Brighton, Michigan.

Remember to register as early as possible. Because of the equipment and
facilities required for this Workshop, seating is limited. We need to know the
number of attendees well in advance in order that Metris- USA can prepare for the expected group size. This is especially true for
handouts and other materials provided, computer access, refreshments and lunches.
This is your opportunity to learn the DMIS 5.1 Standard as well as understand the new
I++DME specification with "hands-on" experience.
